Satkaar Campaign supports Gurmat Camp at Edinburgh Gurdwara

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

The Satkaar Campaign's Sevadaars supported the Gurmat Camp held at Guru Nanak Gurdwara, Edinburgh UK, on 8th July 2011. The efforts of the local Sangat and Gurdwara Committee were extremely commendable. The focus of the camp was to teach the young children about respect for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and the importance of Sikh Rehit Maryada. This camp is a great example of effectively using all the resources available to the Gurdwara to promote Sikhi within the local Sangat.

Who/What is the Satkaar Campaign?

The Satkaar Campaign is not a formal body in any sense. It is neither a registered charity nor a private association, nor does it have any formal office or office-bearers. The Satkaar Campaign, and its Sevadaars (i.e., Satkaar Sevadaars), is a UK Sangat-led grassroots Gurdwara (Sikh religious place of worship enshrining Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji) reform movement, initially, but not limited to, focussing on preventing the gross sacrilege of parties, meat, alcohol and tobacco being permitted on the holy Gurdwara premises or any premises funded with the Sangat's donations to Guru Ji's Golak.
