Gurdwara Parbandhiks and Panthic Sevadaars meet to discuss the issue of sacrilege at GNSS Gurdwara Dudley
Meeting sought by Gurdwara Parbandhiks and Panthic Sevadaars on behalf of UK Sangat
Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh!
A meeting organised and attended by members of various Gurdwara Parbandhik committees and Panthic Sevadaars from the midlands area was convened on Tuesday 5 April 2011 at Guru Har Rai Sahib Gurdwara in West Bromwich. The GNSS Gurdwara committee's continued defiance of Akaal Takhat Sahib's 2006 Sandesh, and its efforts to pursue the separation of the Sikh Cultural Centre from the Gurdwara Sahib, including the GNSS Gurdwara membership meeting this coming Saturday 9 April, were discussed.
We understand that the meeting resolved that holding parties in Gurdwara owned or affliated premises was sacrilegious and in defiance of Gurmat maryada. We further understand that a collective decision was made that various Gurdwara representatives and Panthic Sevadaars from the midlands area will seek to arrange an emergency meeting with the GNSS Gurdwara within the coming days to discuss this issue further.
We also understand that Sangat TV (Sky Channel 847) will be hosting a live discussion show (programme date and time to be confirmed), which will feature community elders and leaders discussing issues relating to the Satkaar Campaign in general and in particular the specific topic of GNSS Gurdwara committee's continued defiance of Akaal Takht Sahib's 2006 Sandesh. We further understand that representatives of the GNSS Gurdwara committtee will be invited to attend or call in to the discussion.
The Satkaar Campaign wishes to thank the various Gurdwara Parbandhiks and Panthic Sevadaars for their current positive engagement on issues of Satkaar for Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaaj. The Satkaar Campaign looks up to our elders in this regard, and we wish to work hand-in-hand with them in ensuring that all UK Gurdwaras follow the 2006 Sandesh so that the authority of Akaal Takhat Sahib is not undermined and maximum Satkaar for Sri Guru Granth Ji Maharaaj is maintained. As we have said all along, it is the duty of every Sikh to be alert on these issues. Collectively, nothing can stop the UK Sangat on this issue, since Gurmat is firmly on our side.
